How does nega-stat® perform in wash and wear?
The outer PES sheath of nega-stat® provides exceptional durability to wear, washing, sterilization and chemical attack.
Flame retardant garments are worn for personal protection against incendiary discharges in hazardous environments. Both the garment and the wearer can potentially trigger a static electrical discharge, which could lead to an explosion.
CE-marked garments made from fabric that complies with EN 1149-5 standards will not generate an incendiary discharge, provided that both the wearer and the garment are fully grounded.
However, in a typical workplace, achieving complete grounding at all times is often not feasible. In situations where grounding is partial or absent, garments that meet these standards may still produce a static incendiary discharge.
Safety garments containing nega-stat® P190 are unique in that they provide protection against incendiary discharges, even when the garment is partially or completely ungrounded. These garments maintain their protective performance under such conditions and prevent incendiary discharges directly from the fabric.
Many safety standards for protective clothing, flooring, and other equipment are built upon a system of interconnected safety guidelines. This is the theory …
However, the reality of the workplace often diverges significantly, leading to safety gaps that existing standards cannot address. It is this very discrepancy that led to the development of nega-stat® P190. This product is designed for situations where the ideal conditions of a laboratory environment contrast sharply with the realities of the workplace. In these real-world scenarios, practical safety takes precedence over theoretical assumptions, helping to bridge genuine safety gaps.
nega-stat® is the only antistatic yarn globally that minimizes the risk of static charge in both earthed and unearthed conditions to such an extent that no damage can occur.
Static electricity builds up on the body and clothing, potentially creating hazardous situations, especially in environments with flammable substances. nega-stat® P190 in workwear prevents static discharge, even without full grounding. It ensures safe corona discharge into the air, closing a critical safety gap.
Static discharge can damage electronics. nega-stat® P190 minimizes static and ensures safety, even without grounding.
Many safety standards ignore real industry conditions. nega-stat® ensures safety when grounding isn’t guaranteed.
nega-stat® stands for reliable, high-performance anti-static protection, meeting the most stringent international standards. Fabrics and garments containing nega-stat® comply with key industry norms such as ESD EN 61340, EN 1149-5, GOST R EN 1149-5, and JIS 1094, and are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified for safety and environmental responsibility.
Tested for durability and effectiveness, nega-stat® ensures consistent static dissipation, making it the trusted choice for industries where safety, compliance, and performance are essential.

The outer PES sheath of nega-stat® provides exceptional durability to wear, washing, sterilization and chemical attack.
Yes. Fabrics and garments containing nega-stat® P190 or P210 can be fully recycled.
No. Usually any fabric/garment containing an antistatic component has to be fully grounded at any time. In areas where a full grounding will be not possible or not practicable fabrics and garments containing the core conductor nega-stat® P190 will provide full antistatic protection.
Depending on the final application nega-stat® is introduced into the fabric in defined grids or stripes.
nega-stat® antistatic fibers are used across various industries to enhance safety and prevent electrostatic discharge. In workwear, they provide protection in gas and oil, automotive, firefighting, police, and military sectors. Industrial applications include conveyor belts, filtration, ropes, harnesses, seating, hoses, and copier brushes.
In clean areas such as cleanrooms, car bodyshops, and battery cell production, nega-stat® helps maintain product integrity. It is also used in floor coverings, medical garments, and health applications, including asthma protection, pain relief, and sports performance. With its versatility, nega-stat® improves safety, hygiene, and comfort across multiple fields.
nega-stat® is available in a recycled version where the conducting carbon core is embedded into a recycled PES sheath.
nega-stat® P190 and P210 contain a unique trilobal carbon conducting core embedded into a PES sheath.
nega-stat® is available in various counts to meet different application requirements. The nega-stat® P210 series includes 28 dtex f 3, 56 dtex f 6, and 112 dtex f 24, while nega-stat® P190 is available in 39 dtex f 6, 78 dtex f 12, and 156 dtex f 24. The nega-stat® DP 40 variant comes in 20 dtex f 4. Additionally, white and dyeable nega-stat® options are offered in 28 dtex f 3 and 28 dtex f 4.
Yes. Aside the black non dyeable qualities nega-stat® P190, P210 and DP40, we are in the position to provide a range of white disperse dyeable as well as white cationic dyeable solutions.
Fabrics containing nega-stat® can be mechanically recycled or if the base material is PES and contains nega-stat® such a material can be remelted.
Fabrics and garments containing nega-stat® will perform to all international standards and relevant antistatic norms such as EN 61340, EN 1149/5 and JIS 1094.
Under full grounding conditions fabrics containing nega-stat® P190 operate by 2 main mechanisms – induction and conduction.
Where full grounding is not possible the unique trilobal core induces a corona discharge.
nega-stat® contains a carbon conducting core which is embedded into a PES sheath.
